Continuing the Conservation: A conversation on the state of heritage conservation continuing education in Canada

A RAIC Certificate of Attendance for 1 hour of continuing education will be issued to all attendees.

As Canada’s archiectural fabric ages, there is a growing need for excellence not only in new builds but also in the treatment of historically-valuable buildings and places. To respond to this need, the RAIC is developing a suite of continuing education sessions on heritage conservation.  Come and get an inside look at the RAIC’s research process, member survey, stakeholder engagement, report findings, partnerships, and course development in sustainable heritage conservation.  The session will give an overview of current continuing education offerings on heritage conservation in Canada.

Presented by Kristen Gagnon, MRAIC, Program Officer at the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC).

Kristen Gagnon is a Program Officer with the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, leading the planning and implementation of their newly expanded continuing education program. Kristen holds a Master of Architecture degree, and is currently pursuing a PhD in architecture at Carleton University, having presented her research internationally. She is also the architecture editor for Spacing magazine and has taught both design and lecture-based courses, including a course of adaptive reuse
