Basics of the Ontario Construction Act
Ted and Derrick will speak to the amendments Ontario passed to the Construction Act to: modernize the construction lien and holdback rules, help make sure that workers and businesses get paid on time for their work, help make sure payment disputes are addressed quickly and painlessly
Ted Katsoris is a Principal and Department Manager at Morrison Hershfield with over 25 years of combined contracting and consulting experience. He has extensive experience in the field of building science and building envelope repair/rehabilitation, as well as contract administration. Formally trained in the field of building science and project management, Ted has undertaken a wide variety of projects ranging from building envelope repairs, mechanical upgrades, and asbestos removal to the redesign of large landscape areas. Ted is also an active instructor with Construction Specifications Canada, where he teaches night school courses to professionals involved in specification writing and administration of constructions contacts. When asked, he is also a guest instructor at Ryerson University.
