Green Building in 2018: What You Need to Know Now and What's Next
Perhaps you’re already an aficionado of all things sustainability-driven or it may be that a new or prospective project is encouraging you to learn more. Yet you may be unaware of some of the practical issues, gaining increasing prominence, that will impact professionals working in urban planning, architecture and design, facilities management and property development, to name but a few.
This seminar will outline five of the most influential ‘Green Building’ trends influencing working life in 2018 and beyond – Zero Carbon, The Retrofit Economy, Big Data, Program Diversity and Lifecycle.
Leading the session will be Jeff Ranson, GTA Regional Director for the CaGBC (Canada Green Building Council), who has consulted nationally and internationally, with a focus on capacity building and strategic planning for sustainable development, climate change mitigation and resilience outcomes.
He is the former founding Executive Director of the Toronto 2030 District, and was previously Manager of Education for Sustainable Buildings Canada as well as lead facilitator for Enbridge’s Savings By Design energy conservation program. Jeff is an Honors graduate of Western University’s Richard Ivey School of Business and of OCADU’s Masters of Design in Strategic Foresight and Innovation, where he received the President’s Award for Outstanding Achievement in Graduate Studies.
This seminar is IDCEC approved for one hour (HSW).
